Using right strategy is very much important for a web site to rank well on search engines. Every Search engine has it own guidelines and follow different rules regarding the design of a website. Although there are following guidelines you should follow while designing the website.

• Domain name should be easy and commonly used.
• Keywords should be figured with in links of your site. It could be linked in Anchor, although it also leads in competitors to steal your keywords and use it.
• You can use specialized keyword to boost your ranking.
• Keyword should be easy, commonly used by the user. Put your primary keywords on left hand side it is said Google catch page from left to right.
• Designed or layout of web pages should be in organized manner. You should define a particular topology of sequence that web page linked together.
• Don’t create the similar type of links because it create problem in indexing. Use different titles for inner pages.
• Use the flat directory structure means the directory should deeper and be less hierarchical structured.

1.       Ex www.yahoo.com/entainment/............../music.html Here the music.html is the nth file. It create in problem in indexing because the spider of search engine will move again and again but it will not include the link of the webpage in his database this is because spider do include similar pages. Even you specified the dynamic URL or metacharaters in page. This will    greatly effect the locking of rank.

• Sitemap should be properly figured. In case of large site should be divided in sub sitemaps.
• Page size should not exceed 100 kb because it lack in loading of page to the user. This is because developer’s uses flash, java script etc to make attractive page. But reality is people used dial-up connection and speed of internet is not great. Keep images small and light weight so that user can see your information easily. Avoid Java script code in page, it increases page size or if you want to do so, put Java script in separate folder.
• Generally what I see on net designers leave unblock under construction page on website. You can let crawlers not to index them by using Robots.txt file. It should be used for the confidential data EX sales report, profit, linked pages. This is because spiders are greedy eater of links side by side it also secures web pages from the hackers to avoid making changes in the site.
• Flash is great software to show your product and services in small area with digital music. You can attract you clients with effective presentation but in the case of search engine optimization it will be better not to use flash in whole website and if you want so   use flash in the header area.  Although I have seen many good PR flash site, this is because google has started considering flash.

• Say no to frames, if we see earlier websites they were designed with frames method. Frames makes search engine hard to understand and cannot follow there inner links from frame set, although Google consider frames. Now day’s sites are designed with Div Tag and External CSS file coding.

• Google consider Internal link and plays vital role in all over page rank. Internal links should be configured in right way so that you can get PR for your internal links, so you have to structure your internal links correctly.

From the above opinion you can boost your web site to rank well on search engine. You can do much more with the website and above precaution are only fundamental rules.
